A US court has found that allegations of fraud made against Heath Lambert were not sustainable.

In a case heard in the Superior Court of California, Heath was granted a summary judgment in its favour, which dismissed it from a case involving fraud claims made by Artisan Entertainment.

The court found that allegations of fraud made against Heath were not sustainable. This means that insurance policies could be voided only in the event of fraud.

The judgment followed last month's ruling in a US court that reinsurer Sphere Drake was not liable for damages to movie company Destination Films.

William Wilks, director of HLF Group, parent company of Heath, said: "This decision in California is further good news following that from New York.

"These decisions have significantly reduced Heath's involvement in film finance litigation. The House of Lords decision underlines our confidence for future cases."
