Insurance intermediary Hill House Hammond (HHH) has acquired Sheffield broker Derek Eastwood. It will use the business as a local branch office and all four staff will be retained.

Derek Eastwood Insurance Brokers has about 3,000 clients. The move follows the retirement of owner and manager Derek Eastwood on 31 December 2001.

Eastwood said he was pleased with the deal, given HHH's position as a well known and respected independent insurance business.

He added: "I shall be staying on for a short while in a consultancy capacity."

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition, although small, is HHH's second of the new year.

It had previously announced that it had acquired Taunton based Lloyd and Whyte Insurance Brokers, which has a premium income of £7m.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
