The collapse of Australian insurer HIH a year ago is causing fresh problems for embattled accountancy firm Andersen.
Andersen could face legal action over HIH's collapse as it acted as the firm's auditor.
Australian law firm Dennis has drafted a claim to be put to Andersen at the Australian Royal Commission into HIH's collapse to be held next month.
The claim represents 1,000 HIH shareholders, and up to 2,000 more are expected to join the action.
The law firm said that due to Andersen's role as auditor it could face a claim of between A$500m (£184m) and A$700m (£258m). The collapse of HIH itself cost A$5bn (£1.8m)
The Australian branch of Andersen has denied it is facing legal action over the HIH affair.
