Homeserve and Domestic & General have begun speculating on a potential joint operation

Homeserve has approached Domestic & General Group (D&G) with a view to entering into discussions about a potential merger.

Homeserve believes a joint operation would help accelerate Homeserve’s strategy of providing total home emergency cover. Homeserve’s said that in the event of a combination it would transfer primary underwriting risk to an insurance partner, in line with Homeserve’s current business model.

The approach is at a preliminary stage and there is no certainty that an offer for D&G or any other transaction will result.

D&G said: “There is no certainty that the approach or any discussions will lead to an offer or any transaction.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
