Broker Direct is to go live with new business and mid term adjustments on New Millennium Technologies (NMT).

Broker Direct will start the switching on process this week and will have all of its NMT brokers switched on and trading within a week.

About 95% of all business placed with Broker Direct is full-cycle EDI.

Tackling risks
ALARM, the Association of Local Risk Managers, is developing an educational programme for risk managers in the public sector.

A rolling programme of seminars is being staged to tackle new threats such as cyber risks and stress in the workplace. They will also examine the opportunities to be gained from partnership working, and the introduction of better corporate governance, bench marking and auditing systems.

The next seminar will be held at Leicester City council's offices on July 16.

Aon in Wales
The Secretary of State for Wales, the Rt. Hon Paul Murphy MP, has opened Aon's new offices in Cardiff.

The offices are to be occupied by IRISC, part of Aon Managed Services, which has a contract with the DTI to process coal miners' industrial disease claims.

The Audit Commission has published a paper for local authorities on how risk management can help them achieve strategic objectives.

The management paper, Worth The Risk: Improving Risk Management In Local Government, offers practical advice on how councils can address their key business risks.

Rotary win
Ecclesiastical has won the contract to insure Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland.

The policy covers the buildings and contents of the charity's head office in Alcester, Warwickshire.

On the liability side, Rotary International required cover for activities as diverse as participating in the World Cup Rally to volunteering as Father Christmas.
