The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has begun its search for a new executive director to succeed Steve Fowler.
Fowler led the first phase of the Institute's business transformation programme and completes his 15-month secondment from Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) in July.
IRM chairman Paul Howard said that Steve's leadership has been essential to this process and that the IRM has benefitted greatly from his business development and change management skills. Paul also thanked R&SA for its generosity in supporting the IRM in this way.
The Institute is now looking to appoint an executive director to continue this work, including the launch in September 2003 of the new educational programme and student support package for its associateship diploma.
Paul Howard says the new executive director will need skills and drive to implement this ambitious programme on time while enhancing the IRM's standing as a provider of continuing professional education.
Also a number of IRM lectures will take place in the coming weeks. Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of EasyJet and chairman of EasyGroup, will give the 2003 IRM Lecture on the subject of "Entrepreneurial risk - challenging the standards".
The lecture will take place from 9am to 10.30am on Thursday 12 June at the Merchant Taylor's Hall in the City of London.
Steve Marshall, former chief executive of Railtrack plc, and Stephen James, chairman of Thomas Miller Group, are keynote speakers at the IRM Forum, the Institute's annual residential school.
The Forum will take place 1-2 October 2003 at Robinson College, Cambridge.
