Jonny Wilkinson's advisers have told him to insure his feet for £10m, revealed a report.
It said negotiations had begun to protect the England fly-half's earnings against a career-ending injury.
Gary Rees, of Wilkinson's broker Thompson Heath & Bond, said: "We would advise sportsmen to insure themselves against potential loss of earnings. As their earning power increases, their policy should be revised accordingly."
According to the report, before his world cup-winning performances Wilkinson was valued at around £1m by the European Sports Consortium, the Lloyd's underwriters who specialise in insuring professional athletes.
City sources said the Newcastle Falcons player should now be insured for ten times that amount, concluded the report.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
