Lloyd's managing agency R J Kiln & Co has forecast a profit of up to 17% on £388m capacity, on Syndicate 510 for 2002.

Kiln revealed that it expects Syndicate 557 to make a profit of between 15% and 30% on £47m capacity for 2002. On its managed Syndicate 510 it forecast a profit of between 10% and 17.5% on £388m capacity.

Detailing its final results for the 2000 year of account, Syndicate 557 was the best performing syndicate, increasing its £31m capacity by 18.1%.

Meanwhile Syndicate 1204 was the worst performer, losing Kiln 28.9% on the £18m capacity held in the syndicate.

Kiln chief executive Edward Creasy said: "Early indications for the 2002 account show that we will achieve excellent profit levels on record capacity. This is very encouraging for the future. We are pleased that there has been no significant deterioration in our 2000/2001 forecasts.

"With a further 21% in capacity secured for 2003, prospects for the year ahead are currently strong."
