Rent-it-all trading can continue to trade as Legal Drive Hire (LDH) after Judge Murdoch QC ruled in its favour in four test cases.

The Court accepted that LDH contracts did establish enforceable contracts, which were not capable of being varied orally.

The legal team argued that the various defences raised by the Road Traffic Insurers were incorrect in law.

One suggestion was that there had been a systemic sham or pretence in the contractual arrangements between LDH and their clients. The Circuit Judge rejected these defences.

LDH said it could now proceed to recover its outstanding debts in the knowledge that its contracts are legally binding.

LDH Sales & Marketing Director Stuart Foster said: "I am delighted with the outcome, which totally vindicates the Company's operating procedures. We can now concentrate our minds on expanding even further, what is already one of the UK's largest players in the Credit Hire industry."

The Judge ordered the defendants to pay £25,000 on account of costs by 8th October 2002.
