Link Insurance Company, the Gibraltar based insurer, has announced that it has started writing motor business in France.
Steve Tidd, chief underwriting officer for Link said: "This...will help us to build relationships in a market which has not supported the broker as much as companies like Link and Zenith have done in the UK."
Link said its strategic plan for expansion into Europe is to write business selectively through the formation of strategic partnerships and alliances with underwriting agencies and direct marketing intermediaries.
The first of these in France is with Eurodommages, an underwriting agency based in Bordeaux. Link will initially be writing private car business.
