Douglas Greenston tells us that he has no recognised professional qualification (16 September, Insurance Times).
Yet I am willing to bet that he, like nearly every assessor I have met since I entered the world of claims in 1974, has MInstPLA or FInstPLA on his business card.
Perhaps the FSA should consider whether the general public "recognises" this as a professional qualification achieved by study and examination.
Sandy Scott please note that the CII's drive to persuade people that qualifications are a sign of commitment isn't being taken seriously by all sections of the industry.
But, then again, how many assessors are members of the CII?
