AA Insurance Services has told young drivers that not claiming in their first year of driving could save them hundreds of pounds - in fact it would almost halve their premiums.
It gave the example of a 17-year-old woman's premium for driving a Peugeot 206 dropping from £2,700 to £1,400 after a year if she made no claims. A young man's premium in the same situation would drop from £4,200 to £2,300.
