Last week, new professional indemnity insurer PRI finally managed to move some desks and chairs into its eighth floor office at Minster Court, but not without some serious headscratching by the removal men.

Faced with a table too big for the stairs or lift, the lifters and shifters devised an ingenious way of winching it up a ventilation shaft, according to impressed onlookers.

At last, chief underwriter Peter Matson and his colleagues are guaranteed a seat. It seems that since PRI occupied its office space on 25 June, only a few chairs have been available. Matson admits that this has caused a bit of a scramble with people turning up earlier and earlier for work seeking a seat.
