The two chosen firms said the tender process for the partnership was ’very competitive’
Axa Partners and Arc Legal have teamed up with Sky over its new smart home insurance package.
Sky announced its new personal lines offering to customers earlier this week (2 May 2023) – five months on from launching a seperate home insurance product on aggregators in December 2022.
The new offering gives customers comprehensive home cover at a fixed price for 24 months, alongside a suite of smart home technology products worth £250 – both of which are accessible via an app.
As part of the move, Axa Partners will provide the traditional aggregator and direct annual product as a home emergency add-on.
Its home manager case opening tool will also be integrated, which will provide functionality to upload incident photos and track progress of their claim.
Meanwhile, Arc Legal will provide Sky with legal expenses insurance (LEI) and cyber assistance.
Axa Partners sales director Charles Dennison and James Waddy – Arc Legal’s head of partnerships and development – said the firms were “delighted” to be chosen by Sky, having participated in a “very competitive” tender process.
Included in the smart home insurance package is a video doorbell, indoor camera, leak detectors, motion sensors and contact sensors.
The app-oriented product has been underwritten by Zurich Insurance.
Dennison said Axa Partners was “excited” to see the insurance bundle become part of Sky’s portfolio.
“Axa continues to invest heavily in its digital tools and this is another positive step forward from reacting to a customer’s emergency phone call to allowing technology to log and track a claim through to resolution,” he said.
“The combination of smart tech and insurance from Sky gives customers the tools to spot small problems before they become big ones, offering greater protection of the home.”
Waddy added: “Arc Legal is committed to providing high-quality LEI and ancillary insurance solutions backed by expert technical underwriting and excellent customer service.
“We are aligned with Sky’s customer service values and are excited to be supporting their new venture.”
