’We are treating this with urgency and have launched an internal investigation to understand how this occurred,’ says spokesperson
Nexus Underwriting has launched an investigation after becoming aware of an email that contains language and references that are “wholly inappropriate and offensive”.
The MGA, which is owned by US-based broker Brown and Brown, said the email was internal and had been shared externally.
The firm added that it was “treating this with urgency” and acknowledged “the seriousness of this matter”.
In a statement sent to Insurance Times, a spokesperson for the MGA said: ”We are aware of an internal email that has been shared externally and contains language and references that are wholly inappropriate and offensive. We acknowledge the seriousness of this matter and unreservedly apologise for the offence caused.
”The content of the message does not reflect the values of Nexus Underwriting or its stakeholders. We are treating this with urgency and have launched an internal investigation to understand how this occurred.”

In its statement over the email, the MGA said that it is ”committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive environment for all our colleagues”.
“We deeply regret that this standard has not been met in this instance,” the firm spokesperson added.
