NIG has launched a new website that will enable consumers to find a broker.
The insurer is also offering to build a website for each broker to enable it to be linked to the site.
Find Your Broker is contained within NIG's www.insurancexpert.co.uk website which was launched on 22 November.
The site extends the broker search engine currently found on NIG's website and allows customers to search not only by postcode, but by specialisation.
This enables consumers to find brokers offering special schemes.
In addition to the search engine, insurancexpert.co.uk contains other useful information, such as the benefits of using a broker and what to do in the event of a claim.
NIG is not the only insurer promoting regional brokers; Zurich is advertising a number that customers can ring to obtain details of a local broker.
NIG managing director Phil Bunker commented: "I am pleased that Zurich is focusing on the broker channel. If Zurich is encouraging more business to go to brokers then that's great. And if Zurich can't service that business it will come to us."
