Norwich Union (NU) has plans to close 11 offices in the UK, which will cost 750 people their jobs.
The decision is part of a restructuring process of its claims handling operation.
Another 11 existing claims centres will expand, creating 450 new jobs.
Staff were due to be told this morning.
