A Garuda Indonesia airline Boeing 737-300 crash-landed in a river yesterday on the island of Java, Indonesia, killing a flight attendant and injuring 23 others.
Newspaper reports indicate that it was insured for a value of $21m (£14.6m), with Aon as the lead broker and Willis as joint broker. The plane was reinsured in France.
Officials from Garuda Indonesia had reportedly not yet agreed on the causes of the accident, which happened following bad weather.
The aircraft apparently suffered engine failure but it was not clear whether that had been caused by the bad weather or by technical glitches.
The plane's black box flight data recorders have been found but authorities are still searching for the cockpit data recorder.
