What planet is John Jackson on? It is really boring to keep comparing brokers to accountants and solicitors (30 May, Insurance Times). The latter provide a service and their only method of earning is to charge a fee. Brokers research a market of products because, like it or not, a motor policy is perceived as a product.

Does he envisage that the direct writers would also disclose an amount as a commission/profit/fee on each policy they sell?

Thank you for your advice to get myself a life, I do have one, and it goes beyond "barking up the wrong tree".
