MIB calls its crackdown campaign on uninsured driving a success
According to the Motor Insurance Bureau, police seized 150,000 uninsured vehicles from UK roads.
In 2006, the number was 78,000, said the MIB.
In the same two-year period the number of claims involving uninsured and untraced drivers fell by almost 10%. The MIB said that equates to more than £30m in savings.
"There is no doubt about it – we are really beginning to win the war against uninsured driving. Now, with Continuous Insurance Enforcement (CIE) just a year away, there really will be no hiding place left for those drivers who continue to drive without insurance," said an MIB spokesperson.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
