'Experience will prove invaluable', says Giles boss

Giles has announced that George Prescott has joined the board of the group as non-executive chairman.

Prescott is a chartered accountant and was deputy chief executive of Ecclesiastical Insurance Group from 1997 until his retirement.

He is also an independent member of a board of JP Morgan Cazenove Pension Trustee Ltd, and a member of the board and executive committee of Mapfre-Re. He is also master of the Worshipful Company of Coopers.

His past experience includes as a non-executive board member of two quoted investment companies, namely St Andrew Trust Plc and Martin Curry Income and Growth Trust Plc, in addition to being chairman of the Audit Committee. He was also a member of the Association of British Insurers Investment Committee.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
