Chairman of Euclidian James Truscott said: "Most of the boats were evacutaed very quickly. Not all the boats had to be evacuated as many of us were still asleep.
"The police handled the situation very well. And executed a sound operation.
"A lot of the crews are still waiting to get back to their boats and get together for a well-earned breakfast."
Bar manager at the marina's Tiger Tiger complex Danny Sutton said: "A lot of staff who work here arrived at first thing only to be told that they could not gain access to the whole harbour area.
"Finally at 9am police allowed us access to the area and then it was made open to the general public as final checks were completed."
