The Belfast Telegraph reports that the Northern Ireland Federation of Small Business (FSB) has reported that local firms were hit by a 57% increase in their insurance premiums last year. The FSB warned that spiralling premiums could lead to the loss of up to 1,000 jobs.

Meanwhile the The Scotsman reports that Edinburgh's financial services industry could be on the verge of securing access to the multi-billion pound European market when new EU legislation is adopted in May.

The Birmingham Post calls on companies to make better use of their time after a new survey revealed that staff in the region are spending an average of 15 hours a week in meetings.

Finally the Newcastle Journal carries a story about engineering giant ABB's record loss of £500m last year. The firm blamed the results on a settlement for asbestos liabilities last year.
