Lloyd's broker Gresham improved its performance in the year to 31 December 2003 by cutting its pre-tax losses from £196,949 in 2002 to £160,700.

Gresham cuts lossesLloyd's broker Gresham improved its performance in the year to 31 December 2003 by cutting its pre-tax losses from £196,949 in 2002 to £160,700.The broker doubled turnover to £1.9m from £900,000 the previous year. In 2003, Gresham acquired the ongoing business of UKI Commercial Underwriting.

Monument's £5.1m startLloyd's broker Monument UK, part of the Primary Group, recorded turnover of £5.1m for a pre-tax profit of £1.6m in the year to 31 December 2003. The business began trading on 1 January 2003 when it bought a book of business from Monument Insurance Brokers.For the same period, TCRU, formerly Monument Insurance Brokers, also part of the Primary Group, recorded turnover of £3.6m for a pre-tax profit of £6m.

Crispin Speers profit fallLloyd's broker Crispin Speers & Partners saw its pre-tax profit fall in the 15 months to 31 March 2004, despite a longer financial year. It recorded a pre-tax profit of £124,765 for the period, down from £174,351 for the year ended 31 December 2002. Turnover rose to £2.8m, up from £2.2m.

Guest Krieger recordLloyd's broker Guest Krieger said it had achieved record levels of brokerage and profit for the year to 31 March 2004. Turnover rose 12% to £3.2m, and operating profit increased 5% from £619,745 to £653,061.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
