Reynolds Porter Chamberlain will hold a seminar on employment law, as a businesswoman is awarded a record £2.2m for sexual discrimination.

The seminar will cover how to avoid sex discrimination claims, important information about new dismissal procedures and the use of confidential information by former employees.

A spokewoman said it was a particularly opportune time for the seminar.

"Sex discrimination claims are becoming an increasing concern to city employers, not only because of the size of the claims, but also because of the media coverage they now attract," the spokewoman said.

"For instance, Jane Hayes' £1.5m out-of-court settlement against Charman Underwriting Agencies was very widely reported."

On Friday, Kate Bleasdale was awarded £2.2m after she successfully claimed that sexism forced her out of the medical staff agency she had founded.

The seminar will be held on 4 December from 5pm at the firm's London offices.
