Scott Schoen has resigned from the Axis Capital board of directors.
Schoen's resignation follows the sale of all remaining Axis Capital common shares owned by Thomas Lee Partners and related entities, the company said.
Schoen had been a director since the company's formation in November 2001.
The board said it had no immediate plans to appoint a replacement, but that it would appoint Schoen's successor as finance committee chairman at its next meeting.
