Move ends 11 year outsourcing deal

Service Underwriting Agency has opened an office in Hove which will become the central claims operation for the Service group of companies.

This move will bring to an end an 11 year outsourcing arrangement with Elite Incident Management for claims handling services.

The new office opens for business today. Many of the staff will transfer from Elite to the new operation under an agreement reached between the two companies. Service said this would ensure continuity of claims handling.

"We are committed to providing our brokers and their customers with a good quality service. This is an exciting development which will enhance our claims service and enable us to refine those services to meet the needs of many of our specialist lines of business," Service said.

Service began trading as a Lloyd’s motor syndicate in 1997, and made the decision at that time to outsource claims handling to benefit from the scale and resources of a larger business. Service group writes premiums in excess of £60 million
