Buses figure strongly in insurance. Independent Insurance had a bus. Neil Utley has a bright red bus, presumably to drive to meetings in when he is not roaring up on his trusty Harley Davidson. Now we learn that insurance start-up Oxygen has a bus - albeit a metaphoric one.

Nigel Barton, Oxygen Holding's chief executive, describes his company as a "free-thinking bus". Very Summer of Love. But then, Backchat thinks there definitely a bit of a new age feel discernable in Barton. There's the wild red locks. And don't forget those turquoise glasses that he owns. Austin Powers eat your heart out.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
