A San Francisco-based insurance consumer rights group is suing the three largest global brokers over alleged non-disclosure of commission received from insurers.
The three lawsuits, filed by United Policyholders against Marsh, Aon and Willis, allege that they defrauded Californian consumers by not adequately disclosing the contingent commission they received from insurers, said a report.
The lawsuits followed a similar class action filed against Aon at the end of July, as well as the investigations into contingent commissions launched by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, California Insurance Commissioner Jon Garamendi, and Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, said the report.
