Robert Benmosche’s $10.5m pay package approved

The US Treasury’s pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg, has approved AIG chief executive Robert Benmosche’s $10.5m annual pay package, Bloomberg reports.

AIG gave details of Benmosche’s previous pay and compared his package with other business leaders, according to a Treasury Department letter.

“The total compensation package is determined by the special master to be appropriate when compared to the total compensation packages of other applicable presidents and chief executive officers,” Feinberg wrote.

The decision was the Treasury’s first official ruling on compensation at a firm that received government aid.
