A round-up of the latest insurance stories online

The return of Chris Blackham to the insurance market back in February was a past weblog favourite. So it was no surprise that our story detailing an appointment from his former stomping ground Bluefin, to his new start-up business Endorphin, romped home as this week’s most popular story. Our online readers are clearly watching the Layton Blackham founder’s progress very closely.

Another broking business that regularly appears in the top 10 is Giles, and there was a massive surge in traffic on the site when we revealed the latest revelations connected to the firm. Our online readers read first how Giles had applied for an injunction against former director Andrew Watson, now of Scottish broker George Stubbs, and other ex-employees. We also revealed the latest management changes, with Simon Brooke stepping down from the executive team.

Elsewhere, news of Lloyd’s brokers using the iPad to do business was a big hit. The gadget could soon become the must-have accessory on Lime Street, and visiting insurancetimes.co.uk will no doubt be a priority.

Elsewhere on the web, there was extensive coverage of Willis’s appointment of former AIG chief executive Martin Sullivan, while the exposure facing (re)insurers from the New Zealand earthquake caused quite a rumble.

Meanwhile, our online visitors (and wannabe football managers) will be pleased to know that Insurance Times Fantasy Football is back for another season. With the chance to start scoring those all-important points set to kick off in under two weeks, make sure to enter your team soon to be in with a shout of winning some great prizes.
