Rachel de Courcy joins as financial and professional lines underwriter

Barbican has appointed Rachel de Courcy as an underwriter within the firm’s financial and professional lines team.

She will report to Andrew Pearson, underwriting manager, financial and professional lines.

Most recently, de Courcy was an assistant underwriter in the financial institutions team at Talbot Underwriting. She originally joined Talbot Underwriting in 2010 through the firm’s graduate training scheme, before becoming an underwriting assistant in 2011.

Pearson said: “The financial and professional lines team at Barbican has built its market reputation on providing solutions to a diverse range of clients in what is a highly specialised sector. The calibre of underwriters within our team has been critical to this, and Rachel’s appointment is part of our continuing efforts to enhance and expand our capabilities. She is a highly talented and motivated individual, and a great addition to our team.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
