Cox Insurance Holdings and Freeserve have officially launched their new on-line personal lines insurance brokerage, www.InsuranceWide.com.

Cox, which already owns the large telebroker Boncaster, has already put motor, travel and motor breakdown insurance on-line. The insurer says it will roll out a wide range of products throughout 2000.

These products will be provided by RSA, Axa, Norwich Union and syndicate Equity Red Star. By using the system, motor quotes can be obtained after just five questions have been answered.

Cox and Freeserve will also provide a customer helpline 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Cox Insurance chief executive Michael Dawson said: "I believe we are offering our visitors a unique, user-friendly service which can deliver competitive insurance almost immediately."
