2006 represents the 125th year of continuous trading for insurance broker and risk manager Russell Scanlan, of Nottingham.

In the current climate of consolidation, merger and acquisition we are keen to know whether any other independent provincial brokers can lay claim to a longer business heritage.

Russell Scanlan was formed in 1881 by Patrick Scanlan, an Irishman who settled in Nottingham.

Initial research has been unable to find any older firms, but we would like to hear from anyone who can substantiate a lengthier pedigree.
