Main lines of business: Pinnacle is a major creditor insurance company in the UK underwriting life, accident, sickness, unemployment and redundancy insurance, including GAP, warranty and investment products in a variety of markets. Other main lines of business include: medical cash plans, sports accident cover and pet insurance.

Company history: Formed in 1971, Pinnacle Insurance is part of global banking group, BNP Paribas, and is one of the UK's leading providers of creditor, warranty and special risks insurance.

In recent years, Pinnacle has diversified into a range of other protection-based products, such as medical cash plans, sports injury, pet healthcare, home emergency, accidental death, personal accident, income replacement, group life cover and card protection.

Pinnacle has also established itself as a broad-based supplier of financial services, including contact centre and outsourcing company Financial Telemarketing Services Ltd, and Pinnacle Investments, an investment bonds and savings operation.

Parental links with Cardif and BNP Paribas have helped Pinnacle to develop business outside the UK in Ireland, Sweden, and South Africa.
