’He will play a central role in delivering modernisation of our infrastructure,’ says chief operating officer

Arch Insurance International has appointed Gaurav Sharma as chief information officer with immediate effect.

Based in London, Sharma will be responsible for leading the execution of the insurer’s technology modernisation programme, supporting the insurer’s wider business strategy and long-term growth ambitions.

In the role, he will oversee the delivery of technology initiatives designed to strengthen operational efficiency, improve resilience and enhance the customer experience across the business.

Sharma joins the insurer with more than 25 years of experience leading technology functions and large-scale transformation programmes across the insurance sector.

Most recently, he served as head of technology at Axa Health. Prior to that, he held senior technology leadership positions at RSA Insurance UK, Zurich Insurance and Aspen Re.

‘Extensive experience’

In his new role, he will report to Ketan Motwani, chief operating officer at Arch.

Motwani said: “Sharma brings extensive experience across architecture, technology delivery and service management, making him ideally placed to lead the next phase of our technology strategy.

”He will play a central role in delivering modernisation of our infrastructure that’s critical to support sustainable growth, underwriting excellence, technology resilience and an outstanding customer experience.”
