AM Best has assigned an A (excellent) rating with a stable outlook to Kiln Syndicate 510.

The ratings agency said that the move reflects the syndicate's excellent current and prospective operating performance, in addition to the financial strength of the Lloyd's Market, which underpins all Lloyd's syndicates.

A Kiln spokesman said: "It is a recognised market leader in the five main business groups it operates in - accident and health, aviation, marine/special risks, property and reinsurance - enabling the syndicate to determine pricing and underwriting terms.

"Recent premium growth has further enhanced its market position."

AM Best said that the syndicate has a record of strong operating results.

Profitability is forecast to return for the 2001 year of account (2.5% on capacity) despite a sizeable loss of £96.7m from 11 September.

Syndicate 510 also has a good market profile for many of the short tail classes in which it specialises.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
