The ABI adds Accenture as its latest associate member, and have welcomed the addition

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has added Accenture into the associate membership scheme.

With more than 401,000 people working with clients in more than 120 countries, Accenture, the global professional services company has been working within the insurance industry for over 30 years.

The ABI’s Associate Membership category was developed to enable non-insurance companies to join the ABI.

Associate members benefit from services including access to ABI statistics, industry updates and reduced rates for ABI events.

ABI director general, Huw Evans said:

“We are delighted to welcome Accenture to the ABI’s Associate Member programme. They are a firm with a global reach and I know they share many of the ABI’s own interests – including the potential for innovation and insurtech to benefit both the insurance sector and consumers. I look forward to seeing them engaging even more closely with our wider membership.”

Fergal Spencer, managing director of Accenture’s Insurance Practice, said:

“We work with insurers to embrace digital innovation and drive growth in the industry, so we are delighted to become an associate member of the Association of British Insurers.

“It’s an exciting time for insurers. They have the opportunity with data and technology to completely revolutionise their relationship with customers, and the role of the profession itself. With driverless cars on the road, cyber risks and the explosion of data generated by the internet of things – new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and robotic automation, can help unlock value as insurers look to grow in a new and digital landscape.”
