Former RSA regional director Mark Shepherd joins rival insurer
Allianz UK’s commercial division has hired former RSA executive Mark Shepherd as regional underwriting manager for its London branch.
He was previously the regional director for London and East Anglia at RSA, where he was responsible for the mid-market property, liability, motor and sales teams.
In his new role at Allianz, Shepherd will have overall accountability for the profitability and development of the regional property and casualty account.
He will work closely with motor underwriting manager John O’Connor and London market manager Martyn Davenport.
Shepherd will also assist in the development of Allianz’s mid-corporate proposition.
Allianz’s London regional manager Keith Culling said: “[Shepherd’s] appointment demonstrates our commitment to regional markets and our desire to invest in local service for our brokers and customers.”
He added: “Mark brings with him a wealth of strong relationships. With years of experience trading in the London market, he will add huge value and strength to the commercial division.
“I have every confidence that with Mark joining the team Allianz has one of the strongest trading operations in the London market.”
