Essex-based insurer targets smaller legal firms with low premium policies

Amicus Legal has introduced two new, low premium policies called Amicus Legal Justice, and Amicus Legal Justice Plus which includes a deferred premium funding facility.

Kathryn Mortimer, head of legal services said: “With new underwriting capacity and the resources of a large group behind us, we combined what is best about the previous products and improved on them to produce a very attractive new option. Amicus now has some of the lowest premiums on the market, whilst still affording excellent client cover”.

Smaller legal firms that can only generate a handful of ATE cases per year – and would not be entertained by the current market leaders – can now submit their cases for individual assessment. Each will then be rated on its own merits. There is no minimum number of cases per year required and assessment fees are only applicable on clinical negligence cases.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
