Acquisition is "natural fit" for broker's hospitality business

Aon has announced an agreement to acquire specialist insurance broker, Supercover Holdings. The terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

Supercover is a UK-based niche, licensed trade insurance broker arranging specialist insurance schemes and services for pubs and clubs in addition to other categories within the licensed trade such as hotels, night clubs, restaurants and bingo halls.

Aon’s acquisition of Supercover will add significant complementary skills and resources to its existing affinity business within its personal & group programmes (PGP) division.

Peter Harmer, chief executive of Aon UK, commented: “Supercover is a natural fit with the Aon hospitality business, both of which are leaders in this market. Aon ownership will ensure that Supercover continues to provide clients with the best value and service available. PGP’s wider product provision, infrastructure, marketing capability and backing will support Supercover with a platform and opportunities for the future development of the business within this sector.”
