Charles Earle

Arista co-founder and non-executive chairman Charles Earle has retired from the underwriting agency.

Earle, previously Arista’s chief executive, became chairman of the company in April 2014 after Towergate bought it.

The Financial Services Register says Earle ceased to be a director of both Arista and Towergate’s MGA division Towergate Underwriting Group on 24 April this year.

Towergate Underwriting chief executive Clive Nathan said: “I have congratulated Charles on his well-earned retirement from Arista Insurance and personally thanked him for his support.

“Arista is much admired and respected in our industry, not in small part due to Charles’ vision and ambition.”

He added: “We recently threw Charles a party to mark this milestone and it was fantastic to see his wife and sons there, plus many brokers and colleagues, celebrating in his success.”

Arista was founded in 2007 by Earle and former NIG commercial lines director Lyn Carslake.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
