Aspen Insurance has appointed Jonny Atkinson as manager, distribution and business development in the UK.
He will be based in London and report to Rupert Villers, co-chief executive of Aspen Insurance.
“In his new role [Atkinson] will work with our senior team and key underwriters to ensure that our London Market brokers understand Aspen Insurance and our capabilities,” Villers said in a statement. “His contribution will very be important in further developing our strategic relationships. In conjunction with our appointment of Bob Rheel in the US, this strategy clearly demonstrates our commitment to our distribution network and creating the best environment for the business to deliver in all market cycles.”
Atkinson has 20 years’ broking experience. He most recently worked for broking group RK Harrison, where he helped to establish their new ExecPro division. He has also held roles with Willis, Jardine Lloyd Thompson and J&H Insurance.
