Arc to provide fleet legal expenses cover.

AXA has appointed Arc Legal Assistance to provide legal expenses insurance for its UK fleet busines.

Under the arrangement, AXA’S uninsured loss recovery (ULR) and related personal injury claims will be handled by a UK specialist law firm with bespoke claims handling arrangements for each fleet. Arc said the use of solicitors at the beginning of the claims process is important in controlling fleet claims which are frequently complicated and include substantial uninsured losses.

Guy Coulter, head of motor at AXA Corporate Solutions, said: “Our fleet clients are often international businesses with extensive operations in Europe where personal injury legal expenses insurance is expected to be included as standard. Working with Arc presents the ideal opportunity to deliver this and provide our clients with the high level of service they expect from a proven, experienced and ethical provider.”

Richard Finan, director of Arc, said: “Our appointment by AXA Corporate Services demonstrates how well our bespoke model can be adapted and applied to the various servicing programmes that operate in the fleet accident management market.

“Under our service the bulk of the claims process will be managed directly by specialist motor ULR lawyers because, in our experience, this approach offers higher success rates in recovering the types of complicated ULR claims which fleet operators’ experience.”

The policy is underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance SA, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of AXA Assistance SA and part of the worldwide group.
