Richard Atkin appointed as technical director

Axis International Loss Adjusters and Surveyors has appointed Richard Atkin as technical director, in a move whichthe company says continues its focus on strengthening its specialist adjusting operations.

Atkin will be responsible for providing technical support across the company’s operations, with a particular focus on its construction & engineering division. He will also be an integral part of the team handling major property and business interruption losses for UK and International clients.

Atkin’s appointment follows the announcement in November 2008 of Axis’s strategy to deliver services in three core business divisions - International Property & Energy, Financial Lines & Liability and Construction & Engineering.

Alistair Jacob, executive director, said: “Construction & Engineering is a core business division for Axis. Richard’s appointment has strengthened our level of expertise in this area and further demonstrates our commitment to providing enhanced services to UK and International clients.

Jacob continued: “He will play an important part in delivering our plan to create a centre of excellence for specialist adjusting services in London.”

Atkin joins Axis from Cunningham Lindsey where he was a major loss expert within their UK division. He has also held senior positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers and GAB Robins UK.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
