Institute to provide products and services to 200 employees.

The CII has agreed to provide products and services to the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) including CII exams and membership.

Over 200 MIB employees, including all claims staff, will be enrolled as ordinary members of the CII and will also be eligible to access learning material to support their exam study.

CII business development manager Jon Chapman said uninsured motoring was a serious issue for the insurance industry and that the CII would work with the MIB to encourage higher levels of qualifications. He said: “Their employees deal with many complicated cases and it is very encouraging that the MIB wants to give them this additional support in their roles. This is yet another step towards advocating skills and professionalism for the whole industry.W

Chief executive of the MIB Ashton West said: “The CII membership will supplement our thorough in-house training and further enhance our commitment to first rate customer service. With the insurance industry currently coming to terms with a major claims skills shortage we want to be seen as being at the forefront in our particular sector to reverse this trend.”
