Fiona Luck and Anthony Taylor becomes non-execs

Hardy Underwriting Bermuda has appointed two new non-executive directors and one executive director to its board.

The new non-executives are Fiona Luck and Anthony Taylor.

Luck has had a long career in the insurance industry and was most recently chief of staff and special advisor to the chief executive at XL Capital. She has also held roles at Ace and Marsh. She joins the board of Hardy with effect from 1st March 2010.

Taylor has been an underwriter for over 35 years and is stepping down as excutive chairman of Montpelier Reinsurance, the Bermuda-based reinsurer to become its non-executive chairman. He was previously president and chief executive of Montpelier and prior to that worked in senior roles for other organisations in the insurance sector, including Wellington, Willis Faber Agencies and Lloyd's of London. He joins the board with immediate effect.

In addition, Adrian Walker, who is currently director of underwriting for Hardy, is now joining the board as an executive director with immediate effect. He joined Hardy in January 2001 and was a director of Hardy Underwriting Group until Hardy's redomiciliation to Bermuda.

Chief executive Barbara Merry, said: "The appointment of these highcalibre individuals to our Board is a direct reflection of the ambitions that we have for Hardy. We anticipate the significant contributions that they will make to the development of Hardy."

Following these appointments, the Hardy coard will consist of four executive and five non-executive directors.
