Insure My Stuff provides immediate cover for collections worth up to £250,000

Hiscox has teamed up with fine art broker Richard Thompson Insurance to offer a new online facility for art and collectibles, called Insure My Stuff.

It covers a wide range of art, antiques and collectibles, from toys to old master paintings and the site provides immediate insurance cover for collections worth up to £250,000.

Collections that are valued over that amount will be brokered offline by Richard Thompson.

The broker’s head of  fine art Robert Head said: “We have been insuring art and collectibles for years and we know how valuable collections are to our clients.

“Creating an online, instant and affordable collector’s policy makes this insurance available to everyone.”

The policy provides worldwide cover for over 58 categories of art and collectibles including paintings, porcelain and ceramics, silverware and music or sporting memorabilia.

Hiscox’s head of fine art Robert Read said: “For straightforward risks, the site is a quick and an easy way to access specialist cover.”

The policy can also be accessed via the on line valuation service Value My Stuff, founded by Patrick van der Vorst, a former director and auctioneer at Sotheby’s.
