Appointments follow departure of David Bruce

Lloyd’s insurer Hiscox has named Guillaume Bonnissent as personal accident line underwriter and Rob Ashton as line underwriter for special risks and personal accident excess-of-loss reinsurance.

Following the departure of David Bruce Hiscox London Market’s head of specialty, Hiscox has refocused its personal accident (PA) team. The personal accident account will now become part of the Hiscox Global Response family of products.

Bonnissent joined Hiscox in 2002. Previous roles include line underwriter for kidnap and ransom and most recently non-marine treaty underwriter.

Ashton has been with Hiscox since 2003, having joined from AIG where he wrote various classes of accident and health business.

“David Bruce has left a legacy of strong underwriting at Hiscox,” Hiscox London Market managing director Russell Merrett said in a statement. “Guillaume and Robert were both beneficiaries of his specialist knowledge and I am delighted that they are able to continue this good work. PA is an important line of business for Hiscox and I am excited by the possibilities for its development.”
