Pierre Galeon and Peter Braganza to boost affinity business

Howden has announced that Pierre Galeon and Peter Braganza have joined the business.

Their focus will be to accelerate the growth of Howden’s current affinity business, and have stated their intention to make it a leader in the commercial affinity sector.

They join Howden from Marsh where, from 2005 to 2008, Galeon was practice leader for the UK commercial and consumer affinity practice and Braganza was CFO for the European Affinity Practice.

Howden’s affinity business currently specialises in liability insurance solutions. A large part of their initial focus will be on the re-organisation and broadening of the business unit around new sectors. This will involve new partnerships with third- party distribution networks in order to enable the delivery of liability packages for programmes and associations.

Mike Lobb, managing director of Howden Retail, said: “Pierre and Peter bring huge expertise and industry knowledge to our business. I am confident that their in-depth understanding of this sector together with their experience of this market will make a significant difference as we focus on the growth of our affinity business. They are an outstanding addition to our team.”

Pierre Galeon said “We are delighted to join Howden. We’ve watched the company develop and grow from strength to strength”

Peter Braganza added “The recent backing from 3i is testament to the dynamism, entrepreneurialism and energy of the group. We relish the challenges that lie ahead.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
